Nokia C3

Nokia C3: A Lower-end Messaging Phone Packed with Social-networking features

Nokia is one of the most known and standard brand for mobiles. They have released so many awe-inspiring high-tech smartphones that are well received on the market. Recently they introduced a new messager phone, namely Nokia C3. Packed with social-networking features and sporting a full Qwerty keyboard, the handset geared towards youngsters who need to stay up-to-date with their social circle.

At first glance, the Nokia C3 looks like the perennial popular E72. Half of the front panel is covered with a 2.4 inch landscape screen that can display 256K colors at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Text and images on the screen is pretty sharp. Below the display resides square shaped navigation control key with dedicated messaging key, contact key & call keys. The dominant feature of this handset is its QWERTY keyboard, which occupies the bottom section of the front part. It has the same bubble-style keys as those found on Nokia's more expensive E-series handsets and it's comfortable to use. The keys have enough travel to give you a decent amount of feedback as you type. The Nokia C3 is on the compact side of QWERTY messengers at 115.5 x 58.1 x 13.6 mm and has nearly perfect weight at 114 grams, making the phone very pocket-friendly and easy to use.

As a messaging phone, the Nokia C3 is quite handy when typing messages with the QWERTY keypad. It support the most popular messaging services including SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and popular instant messaging platforms (such as Yahoo! Messenger, MSN via Ovi Chat). There is also Opera Mini 4 installed for all your web browsing need. Nokia C3 has a good level of social integration, so you can easily get access to the popular social websites such as Twitter and Facebook.

This phone is equipped with a 2MP camera without LED flash and autofocus. The maximum image resolution is 1600 x 1200 pixels, but it doesn’t perform well especially in low light conditions. Videos are recorded at QCIF resolution at 15fps. Apart from that, this handset comes with a music player that supports MP3, WMA, AAC, eAAC & eAAC+ music formats as well as an approximately thirty hours of music playing time from a fully charged battery. There is also an integrated FM radio with RDS, so you can tune in your favorite station programs on the move. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack where you can plug in any type of earphones or headphones you want instead of the bundled ones. All these media features will give you enjoyable entertainment experience.

In terms of connectivity, the C3 has no support for 3G. Therefore, the collection will be limited to GSM / GPRS / EDGE data speed, which means Web browsing will be a little sluggish. But luckily, this phone is equipped with Wi-Fi which is quite helpful when you're at home or within range of a wireless hotspot. And there's also Bluetooth support and USB connection which is really handy when you need to connect your phone to other compatible device for data transfer. The internal memory of this phone is a little limited, with only 55MB. But it has a 2GB microSD card included, which can be expandable to 8GB according to official statement. This leaves you with plenty of room to store photos, videos and music tracks. The battery is fine for up to 800 hours of standby time or 7 hours of talk time.

Overall, the Nokia C3 is an excellent handset from the Nokia family. If you are looking for a good-looking mobile with all latest features, especially the social networking function, the this one would be a good choice for you.
