Nokia C6

Nokia C6: An Entry-level Smartphone from Nokia Cseries

Nokia has released a new touchscreen Smartphone in the form of Nokia C6, which is from the same Nokia range as the Nokia C3 and Nokia C5. But these three mobile phones differ from each other in overall design, style & features. The Nokia C6 looks like a trimmed version of N97. With inclusion of sliding out qwerty keyboard, it will be well received by those who like typing and editing messages on their phone.

The Nokia C6 sports a 3.2 inch resistive touchscreen, that covers almost the entire front part of the smartphone. The display support 16 million colors and has a resolution of 640×360 pixels. The screen is bright, colorful and crisp, but it becomes a little poor when it's exposed to sunlight. The phone also features built-in accelerometer for display auto-rotation, as well as turn-to-mute function. Below the large display, there are three physical buttons including home key, send key and an end key, much like those of Nokia 5800. Sliding open the phone reveals a full QWERTY keyboard with well spaced keys, which comes in handy for typing texts. It measures 113 x 53 x 16.8mm and weighs around 150g, quite heavy in hand. It comes in White and Black colors.

This handset is equipped with a 5MP camera on the back, featuring an LED flash autofocus, geotagging and a pretty standard interface, while it lacks new advanced functions such as smile detection, face recognition or blink prevention. And there is also a small QVGA camera on the top front corner of the phone for video calls. The main camera can shoot clips in VGA mode at 30 frames per second. The C6 comes with decent multimedia player that supports popular audio and video formats. The interface is quite simple to use. You can download plenty of songs from Ovi Music as well as viewing album art on the screen when making music selections. The sound quality is pretty good, and you can enjoy up to thirty hours of music playing time from a fully charged battery. It also features FM Radio with RDS feature. In addition, there is a 3.5mm audio jack which enables you to change the bundled earphones to a set of better ones.

The Nokia C6 has excellent messaging service. It supports Instant Messaging for Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, and Windows Live Messenger. And you can create and manage all your email accounts including Gmail, Yahoo Mail and other email accounts. It also provides social networking integration, thus allowing you to access to the popular social websites such as Facebook, MySpace and so on.

Connectivity wise, the Nokia C6 is a quad-band handset, which features class 32 GPRS and EDGE technology, so you can enjoy high speed data transfer rate. The internet can be accessed with the help of 3G (HSDPA, HSUPA), and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. You can also connect your mobile phone to other compatible devices through the Bluetooth and USB connection cable. The C6 also comes with a decent web browser which supports full HTML and xHTML as well as WAP 2.0. The web browser supports Flash lite v3.1 and RSS feeder. The C6 has built in GPS receiver with A-GPS support which works in conjunction with Ovi Maps, providing you with navigation.

The smartphone has internal memory of 240MB as well as a 2GB microSD card included. The memory can be upgraded up to 16GB, thanks to the compatible card slot. Its battery can support approximately 7 hours of GSM talk time, 5 hours of 3G HSDPA talk time or approximately 384 hours of standby time when fully charged.

Overall, the Nokia C6 smartphone includes all the important features that you would expect from a mid-range mobile phone. And to make it more attractive, the Finnish handset manufacturer is offering all these at an affordable price. If you are interested in this phone, you can have a look at its best deals.
