Nokia 6700 Review – A Stylish Device
The Nokia 6700 is one of the Nokia phones that have attracted the masses. It is a simple and seemingly perfect handset that has all the features you would normally expect from any popular Nokia phone. If you don’t want a high end camera, a huge touch screen, QWERTY keyboard and others, but still want a decent phone with remarkable features, the Nokia 6700 is for you. With dimensions of 109.8 x 45 x 11.2 mm and weight of 116.5g, the Nokia 6700 is surely a truly appreciated phone for the slim and sleek design. It has all features available as a package for a much preferred and affordable price. It uses a standard Li-Ion 960 mAh battery that promises 300 hours of standby time, 5 hours on 2G and 4 hours on 3G networks and upto 20 hours of music play.
The shiny outer panels are very attractive with the Nokia 6700. Nothing can be complained about of the outer design for the 6700. The outer panel is made of stainless steel which is smudge resistant. Even if it gets greasy, cleaning the panel is as simple as wiping off with a piece of cloth. A 2.2-inch TFT display of the Nokia 6700 displays 16 million colors and supports QVGA resolution. You can view decent and bright images with fine contrast using the display. The greatest advantage with the display is that it is legible even during bright sunny days.
At the back of the Nokia 6700, you will find a very good 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. This flash unit is very tiny and has less significance as compared to its other features. The built-in image editor makes it easy to edit images you have just captured. There are a few interesting options indeed. You can record videos too at the precise quality. The camera is completely exposed without any kind of protection. To maintain the high quality images irrespective of the age of the mobile, you have to handle it carefully.
If you have already been used to a Nokia user interface, then S40 interface will be nothing different to you. However, you can find some minor tweaks incorporated in the menu of the Nokia 6700 so that it is more interesting to use. The fully featured phone book along with an option to store contact pictures is more than enough for your normal use. When it comes to telephony, the Nokia 6700 works like a charm. You will be more than satisfied to use the phone for making and receiving calls. The absence of a smart dialing feature in such an advanced phone is still disappointing. Messaging can be a pleasure with one of the most comfortable mobile phone keypads. The email client used for email messaging is also good. Internet connectivity is good and the updated web browser is interesting to use.
The music player available with the Nokia 6700 really rocks. It is undeniably one of the best music players from Nokia. Decent looks combined with a great functionality makes the music player highly suitable for entertainment lovers. The D pad can be used to control the player and various file formats can be played effortlessly in the Nokia 6700. The FM radio is now a basic feature for entertainment mobile phones and the same is true with the Nokia 6700. One strange feature of the radio is that you can't play the radio using a loudspeaker. You have to use the headset to listen to radio channels. The video player is impressive, but has limited functionality with a small display.
Aside from an organizer, Nokia 6700 has several applications that can help you to get connected with your friends all the time. The Ovi share and Ovi contacts are interesting functionalities. The importance of Ovi maps can't be overlooked though. Many interesting games are preinstalled in the Nokia 6700. Even with a lot of features, lack of multi-tasking is very annoying because you can't take advantage of many incredible features simultaneously.
