Nokia 5228

Nokia 5228: A Mid-range Smartphone

Generally, most people expect their phone to be of good value providing a little more than basic features. The Nokia 5228 is such a good phone that has the price of a midrange phone and features of a high end phone. It has a solid bar shaped casing complete with a large responsive touch screen and it has a variety of color options to choose from, with a wide of colored back covers that you can use to personalize the device further. It has slim and sleek looks with dimensions of 111 x 51.7 x 14.5 mm. And it will be a fairly lightweight device, weighing in at just 113g, you can easily carry it in your pockets.

The new Nokia 5228 offers a large 3.2 inch responsive touch screen that supports up to 16 million colors, with a pixel resolution of 360 x 640. It is ideal for you to easily browse internet pages and easily input data with the help of the onscreen QWERTY keyboard. The handset has a built in accelerometer sensor for automatically rotating the user interface, as well as a proximity sensor that turns the phone off automatically to help you save battery life. And it comes with 1320 mAh battery that delivers a talk time of up to 7 hours, standby time of 432 hours and a music playback time of up to 33 hours.

The 5228 mobile phone is equipped with an awesome music device which keeps tracks for the user and supports all of the major music file formats that you might wish to use, such as MP3, AAC, eAAC+, WMA and WAV. You can enjoy music with your friends through the integrated speaker. And for private fun, there is also a 3.5mm audio stereo jack which allows you to listen to music with your own personal headset. To complement the entertainment options, this mobile phone also includes an FM radio with RDS support. So if you are bored with your music playlist, enjoying radio programs will be a good choice.

At the back of the Nokia 5228, there is a 2 megapixel camera. Since this is essentially a musical phone, the camera is just an additional feature. You can expect the camera to take some decent pictures outdoor; however, under poor lighting conditions it won't do any good because there is no flash. You can also capture videos that have 30 frames per second with resolutions of up to 640 x 360 pixels.

The Nokia 5228 runs on the Symbian S60 platform, which allows you to install third party apps to increase the functionality of the phone. As with any other Nokia mobile phone, the call quality and signal reception is very good with the 5228 as well. This Smartphone supports various messaging service including SMS, MMS, Email and IM which allows the user to share media files with others in an instant.

Connectivity is one of the areas where the 5228 is not as powerful as other Nokia devices, there is no 3G support. All data on the device is supported by either Class 32 EDGE or GPRS, so general web browsing will be ok, but it will be painfully slow for uploading pictures or downloading music. You can also connect to other devices via microUSB v2.0 port or Bluetooth for data transferring.

The handset comes with a built-in memory of 70 megabytes that is not enough to store a large quantity of music files. Luckily, with the support of a microSD card, you can add an additional 16 gigabytes of storage space. This would be perfect for all your photos and multimedia files.
