Nokia 1680 Classic

Nokia 1680 Classic: A Great Basic and Budget Mobile Phone

In addition to an affordable price, what is the consumers looking for a beginner class from a mobile phone issued by Nokia, for example, the Nokia 1680 Classic? Probably a number of features. As an entry-level classic looking phone, Nokia 1680 is said to be the most affordable camera phone to date. All basic phone requirements are met without having to break your budget, and a camera is a good addition. So if you are looking for a cheap-as-chips mobile phone as your first or perhaps second phone, the 1680 classic is a decent choice

Just as the name shows, the Nokia 1680 Classic is a classic and elegant styled mobile phone. It is available with a choice of four colored casings such as black, silver, plum red and purple so you can pick out any one according to your personal taste. This mobile phone measures 108mm in height, 46mm in width, and 15mm in thickness as well as weighs just 73 grams, making it comfortable to fit into your hand or pocket. It features a 1.85 inch TFT screen that offers up to 65K colors at a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The display is decent and bright. Below the screen is a large and clear alphanumeric keypad and a 5-way scroll key with 2 soft keys, making it easy to see and use. Battery performs well as it provides up to 7.6 hour of talk time or up to 424 hours of stand-by time when fully charged. The built in internal memory of the Nokia 1680 Classic is barely satisfactory, with only 32Mbytes Flash type memory and 4Mbytes SDRAM memory, allowing you to store limited music and video files.

A VGA camera with self-portrait mirror is the highlight of the Nokia 1680 classic. But it has no flash so it’s useless during low-light conditions. Lacking editing abilities, image quality is not great, however, it will be enough for quick snapshots on the move. Moreover, you can use the camera function as a video recorder which allows you to record moving video footage and play back the recorded footage.

The Nokia 1680 Classic is equipped with an integrated music player which can play mp3 and polyphonic ringing tones. It also comes with built-in mono speakers, meaning that your tracks can be played in high quality sound. But this mobile phone  does not have an FM radio, which disappoints those who like to listen to radio stations on the go.

The messaging features of this handset are fairly standard. SMS, MMS and e-mail messaging are all included. In addition, the Nokia 1680 Classic comes with a new message service, namely Xpress Audio Messaging which allows you to record a short and personal voice clip, insert it into a message, and then send it to other compatible users of this new messaging service.

Internet connectivity is made possible with GPRS and EDGE technology. And the Nokia 1680 Classic is furnished with an XHTML WAP 2.0 browser so you can really enjoy an internet browsing experience and always keep updated with all the latest news and information when you are on a trip. And it performs on dual band network (GSM 900 & GSM 1800), so you can have a world roaming experience.

All in all, the Nokia 1680 Classic is clearly targeted at the lower segment of the audience, the people who would like to have a phone which has pretty much all the basic features at a very affordable price.
