Nokia 7510 Supernova Review - Looks Come First
Looks come first with the Nokia 7510, a member of Nokia’s Supernova phone series. The Supernova series was branded such due to the eye-catching display cover, which features a light effects that are accentuated by the interchangeable Xpress-On covers that come in blue, red, brown, gray, purple, and green. Its flip top design also adds to the sophistication and stylishness. This flip top design though, has a slight twist to it, with the addition of a slide to open mechanism that requires you to slightly slide the cover first before being able to open the phone.
A Closer Look at the Nokia 7510 Supernova Features
This is not to say though, that the Nokia 7510 is lacking for luster underneath the stylish shell. Backed by a 2.0 megapixel camera, a standard in many phone today, the 7510s also features a 2.5mm audio jack that allows for better audio appreciation. Also, while easy on the eyes, the Nokia 7510 is also easy on the pocket, as it is ranked among the mid range-priced sets from Nokia. The Nokia 7510s is also an easy phone to use, as the user interface is pretty easy to navigate and understand, supplemented by a stable, responsive system.
Weighing 124 grams and sporting a thickness of 16.7mm, a 46.4mm width and a 92.5mm height, the 7510 is an easy phone to carry and is really ideal for those who prefer smaller, more “mobile” mobile phones. The Nokia 7510 Supernova also has a total of 27 megabytes of internal memory that is supported by a stock 512 megabyte micro-SD card in the external memory slot, but you have the option of upgrading it to up to 8 gigabytes. All the standard messaging systems like SMS and MMS are both enabled in this phone, as well as a Stereo FM radio with RDS and a media player capable of playing most of the standard formats for both video and audio for mobile phones, making this a complete multimedia contender.
The camera, a 2.0 megapixel internal camera, can record both video and still pictures, again complimented with a bright and effective LED flash – and by effective, we only mean in terms of how effective LED flashes are in mobile phones. Photographs are taken in a 1600 x 1200 resolution, and the camera performs fairly well even in indoor and slightly low light conditions. The Nokia 7510s is also quad band, making it compatible with the frequencies of other countries – you have to check with your local provider though, if they have service overseas. Internet browsing is also made possible through XHTML WAP, and the latest EDGE technology and USB support allows for faster transfer speeds and data exchanges.
What is Spectacular with the Nokia 7510 Supernova?
There is nothing really spectacular about the Nokia 7510 Supernova at all – except for the cool blinking light display effects at the front of the phone as well as the interchangeable covers – but inversely, there is really nothing too bad about it either. The Nokia 7510 Supernova is a straightforward mobile phone, which with its easy to use interface and reliability, make it the choice for people who are not comfortable with mobile phones that have too many features. Everything is pretty standard compared to the higher end models, but some really prefer a simpler approach to mobile phone technology. But simply doesn’t have to be shabby, and the Nokia 7510 delivers at least on its promise of being a Supernova – as looks are the primary component that makes this phone standout from the crowd. All in all, it’s a no-nonsense phone that makes no promises, but disappoints no expectations either. It’s a great phone for those who like to keep things simple and uncomplicated, but maintain a semblance of style and sophistication as well.
