Nokia 3600 Slider: A Smart Looking Phone with Great Features
The Nokia 3600 Slide is an entry-level camera phone which packs most features that you could demand from any other midrange mobile phones. It's a compact and very smart looking phone that feels comfortable in the palm and looks kind of cute when closed. It is available in two color options including a sleek black and gorgeous burgundy which allow you to choose your favorite color to suit your personal style. Its slide-out keypad is positioned at the right size, quite smooth to open and easy to use.
The phone sports a 5-way navigation key with 2 soft keys and it comes with a 2.0 inch QVGA screen which displays a whopping 16million colors with 240 x 320 pixels. The display is sharp and clear, though not especially bright and is difficult to see under sunlight. Measuring 97.8mm x 47.2mm x 14.5mm and weighing 97.3g, this mobile phone is really a cute and compact little phone that you could slip into any pocket with ease. And it can provide up to 5.5 hours of talk time as well as up to 280 hours of stand by time.
Feature-wise, the Nokia 3600 Slide has all the standard messaging services including SMS, MMS, emailing and instant messaging. The emailing service supports IMAP4, POP3 and SMTP allowing you to keep updated with work as well as keeping in touch with the work place even when you are away from the office or the home.
This phone is also an entertainment-feature phone, sporting a 3.2 megapixels camera, a music player and a stereo FM. The camera performs pretty good with autofocus and a bright double LED flash as well as 8 x digital zoom feature. It takes good quality pictures and has video capabilities too. The music player can handle all popular music formats such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and WM. Sound quality is pretty good through the built in speakers, and is also excellent when played through headphones. Unfortunately there's no 3.5mm headphone jack, so you cannot plug into other high quality headsets. The user memory is limited to 30 MB, which is far enough to store large quantity files. Luckily the phone supports a microSD memory cards, and a 512 MB card is included in the sales package. You can extend this card to 4 GB, if you want extra storage for music, video and files.
Connectivity is good too, with Bluetooth & USB available. It's a quad band phone, so you could be connected to networking anywhere in the world. But there are no WiFi and 3G, so internet speed will be a little bit slow. Interestingly, though the Nokia 3600 Slide doesn't feature a built-in GPS chipset, it does come with pre-installed Nokia Maps. So you can use GPS services after buying a Bluetooth GPS receiver and pair it with this phone. There is also an Opera mini browser and WAP 2.0, allowing you to surf the Internet on the Nokia 3600 Slide to access your favorite online stores and websites.
The Nokia 3600 Slide is an attractive and well performing mobile phone, ideal for anyone who likes to have a good slider which incorporates many of the features that we have come to expect of a good phone.
